Snowball #1 Criterium, Chesapeake, VA, February 20, 2011
The first time out for the Virginia squad this year. Saturday, Jay Catlett raced the Sno Cone training crit finishing 7th, and joined other team members in Chesapeake on Sunday for the Snowball crit. We had Mike Bombace racing his first bike race along with Chris Syrrist in the Cat 5 event, with Chris taking 3rd place and two primes. The following event was the 3/4's with Jason Moensen in his debut with the team, after a 10-year hiatus from the sport. Jason was joined by Jay Catlett and Dan Baur. The three fought hard, with Jason bowing out in the middle of the race, leaving Jay and Dan, who narrowly avoided a crash on the last lap and finished at the back of the field.
